Body & Brain Centers Hosts Healthy Living Community Events Nationwide Based on a new book by Ilchi Lee

Have you heard all the news about health and longevity? It seems like every day there's a new article about how we're going to live longer. Some reports make it sound like a blessing, others make it sound like a bummer. What issues need to be addressed as we look forward to longer lives? Perhaps one of the most important is the issue of self-sufficiency. Rather than depending on access to advanced medical techniques and the latest dietary research, aging well is primarily the result of simple choices. When we choose the things that we know make us healthy, like eating less and doing moderate exercise, nine times out of ten we're already doing what experts recommend.

To help people make these simple changes, Body & Brain centers across the United States have been hosting Healthy Living Day events. These “Healthy Living” events support the national health campaign of the 501(c)(3) nonprofit Earth Citizens Organization (ECO). Called SEED for Health, the campaign aims to help people “take back our natural right to health, get connected in the spirit of care, and share wisdom, tips, and resources to get naturally healthier together,” according to its official website, www.SEEDforHealth.org.

SEED refers to four things every individual needs to manage in order to live a healthy life: Stress, Exercise, Emotions, and Diet. ECO believes that small, simple actions are enough to plant the seeds of health. They suggest reducing stress, exercising more, changing emotions from negative to positive, and eating a balanced and modest diet.

Body & Brain Yoga addresses these aspects of health with simple mind-body exercises that originate from traditional Korean energy practices. Presenters at Healthy Living events will demonstrate how Body & Brain practices help to manage SEED.

Some of these practices are explained in the newest book by Body & Brain Yoga founder and New York Times bestselling author Ilchi Lee. "I’ve Decided to Live 120 Years: The Ancient Secret to Longevity, Vitality, and Life Transformation" (Best Life Media 2017) contains practical information and a hopeful philosophy for living a long life filled with health and satisfaction. Body & Brain Centers are utilizing this book as the foundation for the Healing Living events and will give out copies with paid ticket sales.

In the book, Lee shares about doing high-intensity exercises for one minute every hour and changing the gait of one’s walk to improve posture and circulation. Lee also emphasizes the importance of having a life purpose that motivates lifestyle changes in order to live up to 120 years—the current scientific approximation for human longevity.

Ilchi Lee’s "I’ve Decided to Live 120 Years"has been endorsed by members of the health community such as Dr. Christiane Northrup, bestselling author of "Women’s Bodies, Women’s Wisdom," Dr. Emeran Mayer, author of "The Mind-Gut Connection," and Dr. Reed Tuckson, author of "The Doctor in the Mirror."

“Ilchi lays out how the development of self-reliance, meaning, compassion, connectedness to nature, physical fitness, and healthy diet are all essential ingredients to a healthy, fulfilling life way beyond the 80 or so years that most people have accepted as their biological age limit,” wrote Dr. Emeran Mayer about the book.

Body & Brain Yoga Healthy Living events have already begun. Most events will take place in the final two weeks of June 2018. A list of events can be found at the bottom of this article.
